Ok so I did the best I could with food journaling today but I didn't write everything down so I am hoping that my memory serves me right...thinking on it I have mixed feelings about how I did. Some meals were definitely better than others. So here is my list:
Breakfast-
2 1/2 frozen waffles with margarine and syrup
1 1/2 turkey sausage patties
1 banana
1 lg glass orange juice
Snack-
1 twix package
Lunch-
1 pack of ramen noodles w/margarine
Iced tea (with sugar)
10 gummy sharks
Snack-
1 cupcake
Dinner-
1 sandwich w/cheese, ham, bologna, lettuce, and mayo
1 snack bag of sour cream and onion chips
1 serving pasta salad (made with a little olive oil but no dressing)
Iced tea (with sugar)
Snack-
10 gummy sharks
Iced tea (with sugar)
When looking at this list I notice a few things. 1) I need to drink more water. While I didn't list it I only drank 1 glass of water today. 2) My choice in snacks suck! I need to learn to reach for fruits and veggies for snacks but I'm just not drawn to them!! 3) My breakfast and dinner weren't too bad but my lunch was not a great one (good thing I only allowed myself to buy 1 package of noodles at the grocery store). Another important point is the fact that the only real activity I did today include doing laundry and taking Kadence swimming. I really wish it weren't so hot out...we don't have room in our house for a treadmill or other equipment, I cancelled my gym membership to save money, and the heat is too much to deal with.
All in all I didn't really have a bad day when thinking about my self-image but still I wish it were easier. Hopefully it will be one day.
Good job Kelly! Take it one step at a time. Dont try and change all of your eating habits at once. Start by changing up instead of tea at lunch do water and eventually try and switch over to all water.
ReplyDeleteWhat I mostly noticed was how lots of what you are eating is highly processed which means its full of sodium and that never helps with losing weight. Fruits and vegetables are easy to sub in for things and eventually they become second nature.
If possible try and also keep count of your calories because I bet that just those along are holding you back from losing weight. And when you see just how much calories certain things have in them you will be shocked!
Kelly,
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work. You get the food obsession for going out to eat from me and the snacking, unfortunately. It's hard when it consumes so much of our time. The sweet snacking is really bad for me too. There are some snacks that fill you up without too many calories. I also have a cookbook from Weight Watchers that you might want to borrow.
There are some free websites if you want to use them to count the calories. I know of one that counts and could give it to you.
